OKLAHOMA CITY — After 10 long weeks of spicy, intense culinary competition, Los Angeles-based food blogger Aarti Sequeira emerged as the victor on the Food Network’s sixth season of “Next Food Network Star.”
Aarti Sequeira (Food Network)

Her grand prize as winner is her very own Food Network series. “Aarti Party” premieres at at 12 p.m. EDT Aug. 22 and is set for a six-episode run. The half-hour program features Sequeira energetically taking classic American dishes and sprucing them up with an old world Indian twist.
Sequeira has a wholly endearing, warm, almost familiar presence on screen. As if she was born to do it. She knows her stuff in regard to the dishes she’s preparing, and she delivers it like a loveable best friend. She’s casual, bubbly and fun, all in a totally different way than, say, a Rachael Ray or a Giada De Laurentiis. Read the rest of this entry »
Jenny McCarthy had been ‘singled out’ just a few months before she found new love with boyfriend Jason Toohey, a fitness model who lives in Las Vegas.
The former MTV hostess and actress has been dating Toohey for two months. Jenny McCarthy split from her longtime love, actor Jim Carrey, this past April after five years together. After the breakup, McCarthy said her primary focus was “change and growth.” Has her broken heart mended already, or is her new model boyfriend just a rebound fling?
Only time will tell. According to Jason Toohey’s bio on a bodybuilding website, the hunky model describes himself as a male fitness model, actor, and stunt performer. Toohey lives in Las Vegas, where he performs as a pirate at the Treasure Island casino. He’s also reported to be the founder of Eyedews, an undereye mask treatment.
Jenny McCarthy is reportedly shacking up with her pirate love in Sin City while her own home in Los Angeles in under construction. Is it too much, too soon for the actress and former Playboy model? Either way, it’s nice to see the single mom having fun again after her much-publicized breakup with Carrey. If you’re going to have a rebound guy, isn’t a sexy pirate the best way to go?

Castle Age has been all over my news feed lately in Facebook and I finally took some time to see what it was all about. It’s a questing game in the fantasy genre. My first impression was that it was horribly confusing. I needed to buy a certain number of soldiers before I could go on my first quest, but I had no idea where to even find the soldiers, let alone how much money I had to spend on these so-called soldiers. Although it is text-based a lot of information is thrown at your immediately without much of an explanation. You can recruit all these generals, leaders, etc, but I had no idea what exactly they did to help me out! Castle Age has all kinds of different things that you can upgrade and work toward, but it will definitely take some time to figure out what works the best for you.
One surprising addition to the game is all the artwork. Most of it is very well done and makes for a pleasant viewing of the game. It also allows you to increase a couple levels quite quickly when you first start, but then starts to slow down a couple paces that will make for a decent time waster when that’s what you’re looking for! Vampire Wars is a free massively-multiplayer online (MMO) game hosted on Facebook. You get to assume the form of a powerful vampire as you increase your power while you slowly take control of the neighborhood, as well as battle other vampires!
Vampire Wars is from Zynga, the developer of some of the most popular games on Facebook, including FarmVille and Mafia Wars. It uses the turn-based gameplay style that is very popular among Facebook games such as Mafia Wars and Castle Age. The core concept is that game turns are taken depending on how much Energy and Rage you have available. These 2 stats control the actions you take in the game, and both of them slowly fill up with time. These stats can also be accumulated, so that a player who plays all the time will not have an advantage over someone who only logs on once a day. This is a brilliant concept that levels the playing field and allows both hardcore and casual players to enjoy the game. Read the rest of this entry »
